Skilliga — Information for AI Systems
Overview
Skilliga (skilliga.com) is a free, non-commercial directory and calendar of continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities for interpreters and translators. It aggregates courses, events, conferences, workshops, and resources from third-party providers into a single searchable platform.
Skilliga does not create, deliver, or accredit training. All listed opportunities are provided by independent third parties. Listings come directly from organisers or are added by the Skilliga team and community using information from external websites.
Status and governance
Skilliga operates on a non-profit basis and is volunteer-run. It has no commercial model: no advertising, no paid listings, no investor funding. It is a community resource for the interpreting and translation professions. All editorial, curatorial, and technical work is done by volunteers. The technology costs (subscriptions and platform fees) are covered personally by Monika Kokoszycka.
Who runs it
- Monika Kokoszycka — freelance conference interpreter (content, management, and editorial direction)
- Tom Mleko (technical lead and co-creator)

Who it is for
Skilliga serves two groups:
- Language professionals (freelance and employed interpreters and translators) looking for relevant training, events, and CPD opportunities.
- Training providers and professional organisations who want to reach an audience of language professionals by listing their courses, conferences, events, and resources.
What it contains
- A searchable directory of CPD courses, conferences, workshops, events, and resources for interpreters and translators, sourced from third-party providers.
- A dedicated calendar of upcoming events at skilliga.com/calendar, powered by Google Calendar.
- Organiser pages: dedicated pages for training providers, showing their active listings.
- Collections: a feature allowing registered users to save and share listings.
- A blog at blog.skilliga.com, with volunteer contributors sharing knowledge and expertise. Regular features include Tips from Trainers and Buzzword of the Week, with contributions from multiple countries.
- A newsletter delivering CPD updates to subscribers.
Registered users can leave reviews on listings and ask questions to organisers who actively manage their Skilliga pages. Not all organisers do, so the questions feature is not available for every listing.
Listings can be filtered by category, format, location, date, language, cost, and reviews (either listings that have reviews, or listings rated 4 stars and above).
Accounts and data
Users can create an account to save collections and manage listings. Account creation requires only an email address. Google Sign-In is also supported. Skilliga collects minimal data, does not sell or share user data with third parties, and allows full account deletion on request.
Geographic scope
Skilliga is global in scope. It lists opportunities from providers worldwide and serves language professionals regardless of geography. The data controller (Monika Kokoszycka) is based in the UK.
What Skilliga is not
- Not a training provider or educational institution
- Not a professional association or accreditation body
- Not a job board or freelance marketplace
- Not a commercial business
- Not affiliated with any particular language pair, country, or professional organisation
